NoteTerrestrial; stems to greater than 1 m long, 3-4 cm diam.; cataphylls marcescent, partly persistent as thin intact fragment; petiole terete medium green, semiglossy, 12 mm diam.; blades subcoriaceous, dark green and weakly glossy above, moderately paler and almost matte below; midrib acute and slightly paler above, convex and faintly ribbed below; primary lateral veins acute and concolorous above, blade acute and concolorous below; spadix creamy yellow-white; infructescence with tepals purplish; fruits green, early emergent.
