| Location | Cordillera del Cóndor region. Río Wawaime valley, tributary of Río Quimi. Along road from EcuaCorriente camp to proposed copper mine site on upper slopes of Wawaime valley. Remnant primary forest trees in pastures. 1000 m elev. |

| Note | Hemi-eiphytic tree, eventually becoming established as a free-standing tree, 15 m tall, 30 cm DBH. Leaves very thick and fleshy. Cut stems exude creamy, sticky latex. Petals bright red at apex, fading to ivory-white at base. Stigmas white at anthesis, covered with thick, sticky resin. Staminal area below stigmas yellow, also covered with sticky resin. Immature fruit green with persistent black stigmas. Probably a functionally dioecious, pistillate plant. |
