NoteTerrestrial; internodes short, 1.5 cm diam., cataphylls persisting in a pale yellow-brown network of fibers, these flaring, not tightly appressed; petioles 21-24 cm long, 4 mm diam., medium green, semiglossy, terete; blades 30-40 cm long, 7-8 cm wide, subcoriaceous, dark green matte-subvelvety above; moderately paler and semiglossy below; midrib narrowly rounded and slightly paler above, narrowly rounded and slightly paler below; primary lateral veins 7-8 per side, etched above, weakly raised and concolorous below, about as prominent as the collective veins; inflorescence erect; peduncle pale green, 3 mm diam.; spathe medium green, reflexed, broken off; spadix dark purple-violet, 7.4 cm long, 4 mm diam., weakly glossy with pistils weakly protruding, purple-violet.
