NoteTerrestrial less than 1 m tall; internodes short or to 4 cm long, 3-5 mm diam., gray, semiglossy; petioles 1 mm diam., sulcate; blades dark green and matte-subvelvety above, moderately paler and matte below; midrib deeply sunken and concolorous above, narrowly raised and concolorous below; primary lateral veins etched-sunken and concolorous above, narrowly raised below; tertiary veins in part raised below; spathe green, spreading; spadix stipitate 4 mm, green in early fruit.
