Note	Terrestrial on steep slopes; internodes short, 6 cm diam.; cataphyll fibers pale brown, persisting in dense mass; petioles terete, obtusely and shallowly sulcate, medium green, semiglossy, 2.3 cm diam. midway; blades moderately coriaceous, semiglossy, bicolorous; midrib narrowly rounded and slightly paler above, thick and narrowly round-raised, paler below; primary lateral veins bluntly acute and paler below, slightly acute and paler below; tertiary veins in part raised below; inflorescence spreading; spathe purplish violet, semiglossy outside, glossy inside, ca. 5 cm diam. in bud to 15 cm diam. at anthesis; spadix dark violet-purple, matte, 3.5-4.2 cm diam.; infructescence red-brown, matte, to 10 cm diam.
