NoteTerrestrial; internodes short, 3 cm diam.; cataphylls dark brown, persisting semi-intact at base, lanceolate, weakly curved; petioles obtusely V-sulcate, medium green, weakly glossy, 10 mm thick, 11 mm wide; geniculum purplish, 2.2 cm long, 11 mm thick, 12.5 mm wide, broadly and more or less sharply sulcate; blades coriaceous semiglossy, moderately bicolorous; midrib obtusely angular and concolorous above, narrowly rounded and paler below; primary lateral veins narrowly rounded in valleys, concolorous above, narrowly rounded and concolorous below; tertiary veins etched and concolorous above; inflorescence erect; peduncle 6 mm diam., yellowish; spathe reflexed and curled, heavily tinged violet-purple; spadix dark violet-purple, matte, 13.5 cm long, 8 mm diam.
