Terrestrial on steep bank or epiphytic; internodes short, cataphylls thin, semi-persistent (see photos); petioles subterete, 70-150 cm long, 1.3-1.7 cm diam., shallowly and bluntly sulcate, medium green, weakly glossy, smooth; blades subcoriaceous; 84-94 cm long, 64-75 cm wide; midrib paler, convex at base, bluntly acute in deep valley above, round-raised and paler, matte below; primary lateral veins narrowly raised in deep valleys, concolorous above; tertiary veins deeply sunken and concolorous above, arising from almost the lowermost basal veins; basal veins 10 pairs, 1-2 free to base, 7th-8th higher fused to 8-11 cm; posterior rib naked for 8-11 cm; inflorescence spreading; spathe 34-54 cm long, 1-1.2 cm diam. medium green, matte; spathe thin medium green, brittle, spreading, becoming, coiled longitudinally, often deciduous, 27-30 cm long, 3.7-4.4 cm wide, sometimes tinged purple adaxially; spadix 29 cm long pre-anthesis, 1.3 diam. at base, 9 mm midway, 4 cm diam. 1 cm from apex, pale grayish green, matte, becoming 62 cm long, 2.0 cm diam. at base, 1.2 cm diam. midway, 5 cm diam. near apex, post-anthesis dark green with protruding green pistils.
