Remarks

Forming dense stands in brackish swamps, leaves densely clumped from a thick stem held above the mud by fascicles of thick roots, leaves stiffly erect, 2-2.5 m tall, about 2/3 petiole, leafy part uniformly pinnate, fertile and sterile leaves similar except for the few distal pairs of pinnae
