Epiphyte; internodes 1-2 cm long, 2.5 cm diam.; cataphylls pinkish tinged, turning brown with pale fibers exposed at base; petioles reddish at base, sometimes reddish speckled, terete, medium green, semiglossy; blades thinly coriaceous, dark green and velvety above, moderately paler and matte below; midrib narrowly raised and paler above and below; internodes narrowly raised and paler marginally, pale discolored above, bluntly acute and paler below; inflorescence green, immature; spathe green; spadix reddish purple, matte when immature.
