Epiphyte; internodes short 4 cm diam.; cataphyll fibers persisting in network, red-brown; petioles 1 m long, 12 mm diam., medium green, semiglossy, obtusely and shallowly sulcate; blades subcoriaceous, dark green and semiglossy above, paler and semiglossy below; midrib sharply acute and slightly paler in valley above, sharply 3-ribbed and paler below; primary lateral veins sharply raised in valleys, slightly paler above, acutely raised and slightly paler below; inflorescence spreading; spathe ovate, concave, reddish, hooding; spadix faintly reddish, 16 cm long, 2.2 cm diam., the old pistils dark brown.
