Terrestrial, 30-60 cm tall; internodes medium green, semiglossy, soon violet-purple, weakly glossy; cataphyll fibers persisting closely appressed to stem, pale brown; petioles subterete, yellow green, finely gland-punctate, weakly sulcate, sharply so on geniculum; 2 mm diam.; blades subcoriaceous, dark green and velvety-matte above, moderately paler and weakly glossy below; inflorescence erect; spathe pale green, reflexed; spadix medium green, matte, 6.5 cm long, 4 mm diam.; pistils paler.
