3 m tall; trunks to 1.5 m, 10 cm diam.; petiole medium green, minutely speckled, subterete above sheath, obtusely flattened toward apex with obtuse medial rib; blades thin dark green and matte-subvelvety above, paler and semiglossy below; midrib convex and slightly paler toward apex, round-raised and paler below; tertiary veins etched and concolorous above, moderately raised and concolorous below; inflorescence erect, 6 per axil; spathe tube medium green and matte outside, glossy and dark purple in lower 2/3 of tube inside; fruit pale green.
