Terrestrial on steep bank; internodes to 10 cm long, 2.1-3.2 cm diam.; cataphylls reddish, persisting with pale brown fibers and large fragments of dark brown epidermis, to 30 cm long; petioles subterete, medium green, matte, obtusely and shallowly sulcate; blades thinly coriaceous, dark green and matte-subvelvety above, moderately paler and matte below; midrib acute and concolorous above, narrowly rounded, paler and matte below; primary lateral veins etched-sunken and conspicuous above, bluntly acute below; inflorescence erect; spathe dark green, inrolled, reflexed-spreading; spadix bluish green, glaucous, 12 mm diam.
