Tree to 8 m tall,, proproots few. Leaves up to 3 m long, 5.5 cm wide in the middle. Infructescence terminal, pending on a peduncle 30 cm, 2 cm wide at apex, bearing 3-4 subspherical syncarps, c. 11 x 12 cm. Stigma spiniform, brown.
