Epiphyte at 2 m tall; internodes short 2.5 cm diam.; cataphyll fibers red-brown, closely parallel; petioles medium green, finely striate, sharply C-shaped, sulcate; blades subcoriaceous, dark green and weakly glossy above, moderately paler and semiglossy below; midrib acute and slightly paler above, narrowly round-raised and paler below; primary lateral veins narrowly raised and concolorous above, bluntly angular and slightly paler below; tertiary veins moderately obscure; infructescence pendent; spathe medium green, straight with peduncle; spadix red.
