Songpan Xian. S of the Jiuzhaigou Xian border and N of the city of Songpan on hwy 301 on E side of highway at Awong Gou. Thickets with Salix, Sibiraea, Potentilla and Rosa, remnant Abies-Picea; forest with Kingdonia on N-facing slopes; and small meadow-like areas. 3575 m elev.

Stony soil at base of steep, unstable rock ledge. Corolla purple, center with a deep purple throat surrounded by a faint yellow ring; older flowers without yellow ring.
