Terrestrial; internodes short, 3 cm diam.; petioles 37-55 cm long, 4 mm diam., heavily tinged purple, semiglossy, flattened and narrowly sulcate; blades subcoriaceous, semiglossy sulcate; blades subcoriaceous, semiglossy, bicolorous; midrib narrowly rounded and paler above, narrowly round-raised and paler, sharply ridged below; primary lateral veins quilted-sunken and concolorous above, acutely pleated-raised below; tertiary veins in part raised below; inflorescence erect; spathe spreading, 7 cm long, 2.7 cm diam., medium yellow-green, glossier outside, sometimes becoming heavily tinged violet-purple; spadix dark olive-green, glossy; pistils dark violet-purple; mature berries pale yellow-green, tinged violet-purple at apex.
