Low decumbent shrub. Staminate inflorescences 28 cm long, 7 cm wide, six spikes hidden by caniculate bracts (c. 7 x 10 cm), spike 6-8 cm in length (the distal one 10 cm), c. 3 cm wide. Stamens yellow. Growing on a ditch bank.
