Remarks

Small tree 4 m tall, with trunk 4 cm diameter. In forest understory on mixed sandstone/clay substrate. Calyx green. Corolla ivory-white on lobes, shading to pale yellow-green at base of corolla and on nectary at base of corolla. Corolla lobes reflexed to 90-degree angle with tube. Anthers dark brown. Immature fruits yellow-green. Dried, mature capsules dehisce from apex to base, with persistent styles, dark brown. Holotype: Shuaria ecuadorica D.A. Neill & J.L.
